Paula Vincent found Cinnamon and Scarlett five years ago at a garage sale near the Willow Branch refuge.
Their owner, who was holding the garage sale prior to moving away, planned to haul them off to auction the next day. Cinnamon, a mare in her 20s, and her daughter, Scarlett, were both completely untrained, single-color Arabians — not a “style” of horse much in demand and very unlikely to find homes on the market or even for free. They would almost certainly have gone to slaughter.
Paula couldn’t leave them to that fate and brought them home to Willow Branch — a true haven for these two horses. They both responded well to the care and training they were given at Willow Branch, and being basically nice horses who just needed a chance, they are now safely in the care of a foster family.
